Quitting Rate Lower Among Smokers Who Can Buy cheap tobacco.

Smokers who had easy access to low-tax discount smokes sold on Indian reservations were less likely to quit - and more likely to relapse when they did - compared to smokers who paid higher prices, Medical Study News reported May 26. The same situation may be observed with cheap smokes online buyers.
Researchers from the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, N.Y., surveyed 1,548 adults in two New York counties and found that smokers who frequented nearby Indian reservations to buy low-tax discount tobacco or purchased cheap cigarettes in online smokes shops (for example your favorite cheap winstons) were half as likely to try to quit compared to smokers who bought full-price sigarettes. When they did try to quit, the low-tax cheap smokes online buyers were less likely to succeed.
The authors concluded that the low-price cigarettes were a dangerous incentive for smokers purchasing discount Camel cigarettes, cheap kent cigarettes, discount Marlboro cigarettes, Discount parliament cigarettes, discount Salem cigarettes or discount Winston cigarettes, etc in Indian reservations.

Chesterfield cigarettes have always been popular. Not only because they were cheap, but also because despite their low price they have also been manufactured with the latest technologies the industry advanced into.

Chesterfield marketers also actively exploited the World War I connotation in brand advertising campaigns. Soldiers were treated as heroes by many people and soldiers smoking Chesterfield appeared in the advertisements. And in fact there was no lying as many soldiers indeed preferred the non-filtered Chesterfield which were one of the top selling cigarettes in the USA.

Late sixties were marked with the appearance of extra-long cigarettes, 100 millimeters in length. While all brands produced these new fashionable varieties, Chesterfield hit the market with its new brand - 101. An extra millimeter was added to these new cigarettes and this was also heavily stressed in the company's advertisements.

Now Chesterfield brand is produced by Philip Morris USA. This company purchased the previous owner of the brand - The American Liggett Group. In 1997 this company was the first tobacco producer that made a public admission of the fact that their products were addictive and could lead to severe problems with health. Chesterfield still remains very popular in the USA where it is a discount tobacco brand and in Europe where they are to represent the true American spirit and the finest American blend.
